Preterm Labor

I used to be so detailed.  My weeks were planned out.  I even made a magnet planning board and a cross off list for each day.  One day I might get back to that point.  But I'm thinking it is going to be a couple months until my lists and calendar events hold any kind of stability.  On Saturday, at 27 weeks pregnant, I went to the hospital for preterm labor.  This pregnancy is still going better than my son's pregnancy 4 years ago but there is a lot of fear in knowing what is going to happen if things continue to go down hill.  I'm just thankful I'm home.  We are just counting down the days.  It is just so nerve racking to know that I could have to leave at anytime without any notice.  It is so scary.  You would think I would be some what prepared for the lack of control because I birthed a 14 week preemie but at a certain point I thought my ultrasounds showed I was going to beat my complications and have a "normal" pregnancy, even if the beginning wasn't easy.

So the bottom line is that I might not be posting for a bit.  Or I could be over posting if I end up in the hospital with a computer.  I was so bored last time.  I long for stability!

Still Working On Bazaar List

I haven't forgotten about the Holiday Bazaar list I was planning on posting.  I am waiting on a few responses.  The newsminer's list that was released this past Sunday had some incorrect information and I want to verify my information with an actual cordinator of some of these events.  Hopefully I will hear something soon.

Putting Together a Bazaar List...

I'm putting together a bazaar/fair list for the Fairbanks/North Pole area.  I found that even though the newspaper puts together a list (I think it is at the beginning of October) some people don't get their bazaars in on time or people are looking on the internet for information that doesn't seem to be posted anywhere.  I think I have all the big ones but if you have any that you want to make sure are on the list shoot me an email at Thefrozencoupon@hotmail.com.  I'm planning on posting the list this coming Monday.  I would even appreciate emails like "Doesn't such and such have a bazaar too?"  That way I can at least do some investigating.  Thanks all!  And please feel free to pass on the message that I'm trying to do a master list to those who might be interested.

Where did I go?

I would never call myself superstitious but I just couldn't bring myself to post before now.  I started a couple of times but then I would delete my post thinking, "Nope, not yet."  Well it's time... I'm pregnant.  I'm now in my 25th week.  If you are familiar with my family you will know that I started couponing a few years ago to save money after our budget became very tight following my son's 14 week premature birth.  Things are currently going very well.  From weeks 5 through 18 I was somewhere between light bed rest and strict bed rest.  I had to have surgery and had extreme nausea which caused some very bad hypoglycemic episodes.  My husband has been the main grocery shopper and is doing a fairly good job saving money.  Though for a bit it was fast food/ delivery for us.  That was a hard adjustment for me because I knew how much I could make that money stretch at the grocery store.  But something had to give.  But I'm able to be a little more active now.  And it is a huge relief to be this far along.

I want to give people encouragement when dealing with insurance companies.  Know your policy and fight things that you feel don't make sense.  My husband had 4 ER visits in 4 days two day before I found out I was pregnant.  Between the two of us we had over $15,000 in medical bills within two months after insurance payments.  We read our insurance coverage and questioned certain payments.  In the end we now owe less than $4,000.  From daunting to doable.  And think of how many groceries I can buy with $11,000.  lol

$25 Food Factory Certificates For $12.50

KIAK.com (the country radio station) has a half price club.  This morning they are offering $25 Food Factory Gift Certificates for $12.50.  I've never ordered any of these "groupon like" deals through them but I took a chance on it today.  They charge a shipping fee though.  But to order 3 of them it charged me about $40 for $75 worth off food.  I still call it a good deal.  Though I have no idea if there is an expiration date or why it said you can use more than one per visit but only one per table.  They only have about 60 of these left so act fast!  Go Here!

Recycle Bank... 140 Points Available

I probably haven't been giving recycle bank the attention it deserves.  The Alaskan Bargain Hunter posted today how to get 25 points by clicking on the Dove logo under the "Earn Points" section.  So I went on a points hunt and wanted to report every point I was able to find without needing a product code.

Pledge to Save Water (click link on right side)... Earn 5 Points
Take the Aveeno Pledge through Facebook... Earn 50 Points
Partners In Purpose Learn and Earn (Recycling Quiz link on right side, right answer not needed)... Earn 5 Points
Partners In Purpose Learn and Earn, Look Beyond the Nutritional Label (I took the quiz a month ago and was able to retake it again for points.)... Earn 25 Points
Future Friendly P&G Points (accept all 3 challenges on their facebook page) and Coupon... Earn 30 Points and a $2.00 off Future Friendly Products at P&G Estore

Not familiar with Recyclebank go HERE.  I love recyclebank for their high value coupons.  You receive points for doing different activities and then can cash them in for deals or coupons.  They run discounted points during the month.  Sometimes they run awesome coupons for only 10 points.

Great Kool Aid Deal At University Safeway

I found this deal on Thurday night at the Safeway on University Ave.  I haven't had a chance to blog about it so I checked tonight to make sure there were a few packets left.  Well there were more than a few... there were about 8 display boxes full with a choice of two flavors, lemon/lime or watermelon/cherry.  The packets are regularly priced $.30 a packet.  The clearance sticker lowers the price to $.15.  The newsminer actually had two coupons in the inserts at the beginning of the month for Kool Aid.  One was Buy 2 Get 1 Free  and a Buy 10 Get 5 Free.  They automatically scanned off -$.25 and -$1.25.  If you have those coupons you can buy 18 for $1.20 ($2.70-$1.50).  Or you can get an even better deal and print a $.50 off a purchase of 5 packets HERE.  (Enter the Kool Aid giveaway on Facebook and they give you a coupon.  Make sure you hit the back button to print it twice.)  Using two of these coupons will score you 10 packets for $.50!  $.05 a packet!
